Sonny sits/sat on a number of Boards of Directors of Public & Private Companies. Such as the Transmission Company of Nigeria, where he was an Executive Director in charge of Finance & Accounts, Federal Roads Maintenance Agency of Nigeria, First Merchant Bank of Sierra Leone (acquired by GTBANK), United Capital Plc (an NGX publicly quoted company), Board Audit Committee of Chartered Bank (merged in StanbicIBTC), International Glass Industry, Aba, in partnership with the Churchgate Group.
In 1978/79, Sonny served for 4 years, as an Academic Instructor at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. In 1982, he joined the International Merchant Bank. He later served as the Treasurer of Century Merchant Bank.
From 1994–1998, Sonny served as the Economic Adviser of his home state of Abia. Sonny Iroche comes with over 35 years of public and private sector experience.
